API Chaya is open and has removed to remote operations

We’re here for you.

Let us know how we can best support you and your loved ones.

API Chaya remains open during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to protect community and staff health, we have moved to remote operations.

Our helpline and office line are still active, though callers may experience longer-than-usual wait times, or no “ring-tone” when dialing. Please rest-assured that your call is being received, but may talk longer than usual to connect.

If you are in need of safety planning and support during this time, please contact API Chaya’s helpline at 1-877-922-4292. After-hours calls will be answered by Crisis Connections. To email us, send a message to info@apichaya.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Rates of gender-based violence are increasing worldwide as survivors options for safety become more limited due to social distancing requirements. API Chaya is committed to responding to the needs of our local communities and being a resource for survivors seeking safety.

API Chaya is currently working to meet the heightened financial needs of our clients. We are also partnering with local mutual aid organizations on their efforts to support survivors in community who are experiencing financial instability and facing increasing safety concerns. Through a partnership with King County and the COVID-19 Seattle mutual aid network, we are working to move 300 meals per week to individuals and families in need.

If you need resources, please visit the City of Seattle’s COVID-19 resource page, available in multiple languages.

Thank you to Group Health Foundation, the Seattle Foundation, Social Justice Fund, Collective Future Fund, and King County for supporting communities in need. If you can donate towards our efforts, please visit our giving page. If you can support our campaigns for economic justice, please sign up to volunteer.
