API Chaya staff and trained volunteers are available to offer support, referrals, information, safety planning, and also simply to listen, on our confidential helpline. Our helpline is 1-206-325-0325. Advocates offer ongoing support to build skills, choices and strategies to reduce harm and isolation. Survivors can call our helpline to gain information, advocacy services, referrals, emotional support, and more from qualified and experienced advocates.
We recognize each survivor’s worth and right to make decisions for themselves. We create a supportive space to talk about the dynamics of abuse or exploitation, to heal from trauma, decrease isolation, and increase skills that will help survivors build the lives and relationships they desire.
We also offer free individual short term therapy, focused on trauma processing, for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. To learn more about our therapy program, contact info@apichaya.org.
Advocates can help you think through options and support you in navigating complex legal systems by obtaining protection orders and accompanying survivors to meetings with lawyers. We work to connect survivors to appropriate legal resources.
We offer support groups multiple times a year for survivors of sexual abuse/assault and human trafficking. Support groups offer opportunities to share experiences, focus on healing, connect with others and build skills in a supportive, engaging environment. Visit our Support Groups page to find out more.
API Chaya Advocates assists survivors and their families with exploring options and in accessing a wide range of resources and services to meet their unique needs, including resources and referrals for housing, legal and immigration assistance, mental health, food and financial assistance programs.
